Hanfa hosts study visit by representatives of the Insurance Supervision Agency of Montenegro
From 8 to 10 September 2026, Hanfa is hosting a study visit by representatives of the Insurance Supervision Agency of Montenegro (ANO) as part of the EU twinning project “Support for Regulation of the Financial Services in Montenegro”.
The study visit has been organised as part of activities aimed at strengthening supervisory practices in the insurance sector. Together with its project partners, Hanfa provides technical assistance in the development of internal procedures, analytical tools and supervisory methodologies, with a particular focus on the implementation of the Solvency II framework, risk assessment, and the analysis of data required for effective supervision.
During the three-day visit, Hanfa experts will present to their Montenegrin counterparts their experience in using regulatory reporting for the supervision of insurance companies, data quality assurance processes, and the development and application of indicators within the Risk Assessment Framework (RAF). Participants will also be introduced to the organisational, operational and technical aspects of RAF development, including the evolution of the model from its initial Excel-based solutions to modern analytical tools. A dedicated part of the programme will focus on systemic risk assessment and the conduct of stress testing in the insurance sector.
Visits of this kind confirm Hanfa’s role as an active partner in European technical assistance projects and highlight its contribution to knowledge sharing, strengthening international cooperation, and supporting institutions in candidate countries on their path towards alignment with European regulatory standards.
Hanfa is participating in the project as part of an international consortium led by the Deutsche Bundesbank. The project will run for two years, until September 2027.
