Warning about the fraudulent website frozenspirety.info
Hanfa warns citizens about the fraudulent website frozenspirety.info, which imitates the appearance of the official gov.hr portal and is falsely presented as an official web page of the Croatian National Bank (HNB).
The website promotes an alleged “National Financial Access Programme (NFAP)”, which is falsely presented as an official government initiative. It claims that the programme is backed by a “national guarantee fund” worth EUR 2 billion and invites citizens to apply for participation. A minimum initial deposit of EUR 250 is stated as a requirement, while it is also claimed that the number of applications is limited to 500 per county.
Hanfa warns citizens that the appearance of a website alone does not confirm its authenticity. Fraudulent websites can very convincingly imitate the visual identity of official institutions, including their logos, names, colours, and other elements; it is therefore particularly important to pay attention to the website address (domain name). Official institutional websites are hosted on their official domains, such as www.hnb.hr, www.gov.hr, and hwww.hanfa.hr. In this particular case, the fraudulent website is hosted on the domain frozenspirety.info, whose design creates the false impression that it is an official website.
Hanfa regularly issues warnings about these and similar types of fraud, especially those involving the misuse of institutional names and visual identities to induce citizens to disclose personal information or transfer money.
