Hanfa and the State Attorney’s Office of the Republic of Croatia sign Cooperation Agreement
Ante Žigman, President of Hanfa Board, and Ivan Turudić, State Attorney General of the Republic of Croatia, signed an Agreement on cooperation between Hanfa and the State Attorney’s Office of the Republic of Croatia on 8 June 2026, at the premises of the State Attorney’s Office of the Republic of Croatia.
The signing ceremony was attended by members of Hanfa Board: Anamarija Staničić, Martina Verić, Antun Palarić and Jurica Jednačak, as well as Deputy State Attorneys General: Gordana Križanić, Tanja Šušak, Diana Pervan and Dražen Jelenić.
By entering into this Agreement, the parties expressed their readiness to cooperate in promoting and safeguarding the stability of the financial system of the Republic of Croatia, particularly in the areas of capital market protection, prevention of insider trading and related money laundering, confiscation of unlawfully obtained proceeds, and the protection of the financial interests of the Republic of Croatia.
On this occasion, Ante Žigman, President of Hanfa Board, emphasised the importance of strong, continuous and constructive institutional cooperation in the context of increasingly complex financial markets: “Effective coordination among competent institutions is crucial for the timely identification and suppression of irregularities in financial markets, for safeguarding market integrity, and for strengthening public confidence in the financial and judicial system. This Agreement further reinforces the partnership between our institutions through faster information exchange, the provision of expert and technical support, and the strengthening of joint capacities in areas related to financial markets. These elements are vital for enabling our institutions to respond in a timely manner to the challenges of the modern financial environment, ultimately contributing to the stability and resilience of Croatia’s overall economic system.”
The State Attorney General of the Republic of Croatia Ivan Turudić noted that the State Attorney’s Office and Hanfa will cooperate within their respective competences and in accordance with the relevant legal framework: “Such cooperation is necessary to ensure the effective criminal prosecutions under the jurisdiction of the State Attorney’s Office in cases relating to financial markets and financial services. It also contributes to upholding the principle of legality and other legal principles that underpin trust in judicial and financial institutions. Enhanced cooperation between our institutions will therefore help to strengthen that trust and improve the effectiveness of the capital market protection system. The Agreement defines in more detail the modalities of cooperation, which in practice will primarily involve the mutual provision of expert and technical assistance in handling specific cases within the competence of our institutions.”
